经济援助是如何运作的

For the purposes of determining financial aid, our office follows the Colorado Department of Higher Education 和 federal guidelines to develop an 估计,平均 出勤费用 (budget) for different student classifications (commuter/non-commuter, undergraduate/graduate, resident/nonresident, etc.).

预算 包括 估计 figures for tuition 和 m和atory fees 和 估计平均 for room 和 board, books 和 supplies, transportation, 和 personal (miscellaneous) 费用. Remember; these are 估计 averages; your costs may vary.

The tuition costs for undergraduate Colorado residents’ budget figures 包括 only 学生分担的学费. 一定要 apply for the College Opportunity Fund (COF) stipend, or you will pay more for tuition.

Determining Need (Level of Eligibility)

Your need for financial aid, or need based aid eligibility, is calculated by subtracting your 预期家庭贡献 (EFC) from the 出勤费用 (or budget).

Your EFC is determined by the 教育部, who analyzes the information you provide on your FAFSA about your family’s income, assets, 和 debts.

The 出勤费用 is determined by the university 和 包括s 估计 for tuition, fees, room 和 board, books, transportation 和 other costs associated 加入UNC.

The only way to determine your financial aid eligibility is to apply.

美国.S. 教育部有一个 FAFSA4caster to help you 和 your family plan for college by providing an early estimate of your eligibility for federal student assistance.
